Mahogany Bay Roatán, Honduras Cruise Port: What to Expect

If you’ve never been on a cruise to the Western Caribbean, make it a goal to cruise to Honduras

Specifically, if your cruise itinerary includes Mahogany Bay in Roatán, Honduras, you are about to visit and see one of the most beautiful island cruise port stops in the Western Caribbean.

I’ve been blessed to cruise to Mahogany Bay multiple times, and as a Caribbean Destinations Specialist who has visited different cruise ports and destinations, I can truly say this is one of my favorite destinations, and you’ll soon see why.

In this post, I share a few helpful insider travel tips so that you can know what to expect to make the most of your cruise stop!

Where is Mahogany Bay, Roatán, Honduras?

Roatán is the largest of the Bay Islands in Honduras, and Mahogany Bay is a cruise port on the southern coast of Roatán, approximately 40 miles north of the Honduran mainland and just off the second-largest coral reef system in the world, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.

Cruise Lines That Dock at Mahogany Bay

Mahogany Bay is a private cruise port area that is mainly docked by Carnival Corporation cruise lines:

  • Carnival Cruise Line
  • Princess Cruises
  • Holland America
  • Costa Cruises

There are other ships that dock at Roatán, but it’s usually at the nearby Coxen Hole cruise port, which is about 15 minutes away.

What to Expect at Mahogany Bay Roatán Cruise Port

Being that Mahogany Bay is a private cruise port, you’ll have the advantage of easy access to shopping, excursion options, and beaches.

This means you can enjoy Roatán without leaving the cruise port unless you choose an excursion, and believe me, as soon as you enter the cruise port, exit through the DuFry (duty-free tax store), and walk the path along the entrance, you’ll see and hear vendors offering excursions.

But first things first. The very first thing you’ll notice when your cruise ship arrives and docks in Mahogany Bay is the beautiful Amazon-like atmosphere. The scenery is filled with the sights and sounds of a tropical island. You’ll see tropical plants, palm trees, green hills, and of course, the clear Caribbean waters.

I was extremely surprised that I didn’t experience mosquitoes during any of my visits (maybe it was the time of year each time I visited, in January-February). In either case, I hope you experience the same.

Walking From the Ship to the Cruise Center

When you exit the cruise gateway to disembark (exit the cruise ship), you’ll walk down a pier to enter the main port entrance, which will take about 5-10 minutes (depending on your desired pace), and where your cruise ship docks.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any pedicab drivers (bicycle carriage drivers that transport cruisers to and from the ship), but the distance isn’t as far as it appears. Mainly because I think the scenery distracts you as you walk along the pier!

If you have mobility concerns and have a scooter, the pathway is wide, and there are signs, crew members, and cruise port staff along the way.

The Cruise Center and Duty-Free Shops

Once you walk the pier, you’ll see an attendant(s) who will check your cruise boarding card or medallion (Princess Cruises), both when you enter and exit the cruise center.

Afterward, you’ll enter the DuFry Cruise Center (duty-free store), where you can purchase duty-free (exempt from local and national tax) snacks, clothing, souvenirs, and enjoy the air conditioning before exiting to the main cruise center area.

When you exit the DuFry, you’ll walk a path and have a photo op of Mahogany Bay Roatán signage before continuing your path.

After the walkway, you’ll enter the welcome center with:

  • More duty-free stores
  • Local souvenir shops
  • Jewelry stores
  • Excursion vendors and desks
  • Restaurants and snack-stands
  • Wi-fi access for a fee ($5 USD all day at the port)

Shaded Benches and Rest Areas

One thing I truly appreciated was the number of shaded benches available along the walking path after leaving the DuFry.

This is extremely important if you need to pace yourself or if you or someone you’re traveling with has mobility issues or prefers to stop and rest along the way.

This is also helpful if, even in February, the afternoons become hot and you need to pause, rest, and drink water to cool off from the Caribbean heat.

Pro Tip: Take advantage of the shaded benches and rest areas to stay hydrated and to make your walks more comfortable.

Mahogany Bay Roatán Cruise Port Map Explained (Where Everything Is)

Mahogany Bay has a simple layout. Understanding it will make it easier for you to plan your time ashore.

Here is a breakdown of the port area.

Cruise Ship Dock

The great news about this port is that a tender boat is not necessary. The cruise ships dock along the pier that connects directly to the cruise port area.

Because of this, cruise passengers can walk to the cruise center without needing any additional or required transport.

If you’ve ever been on a cruise to the Bahamas or any other ports that don’t allow ships to dock near the port, you know exactly what I mean!

Why this matters: This is a huge benefit for disembarkation and embarkation time. No tender tickets, tender lines, or waiting for a tender boat to take you ashore!

Shopping Area

I briefly mentioned the shopping area earlier in this post.

You’ll have an immediate opportunity to shop as you enter the DuFry, and from there you’ll walk a path to the major section of the port to the shopping plaza, which includes duty-free stores, souvenir shops, and restaurants.

If you’ve booked an excursion, you’ll also find the excursion meeting points and a lot of vendors who will be more than happy to help you find and book an excursion if you haven’t already.

Chairlift to Mahogany Beach

You’ll see it before you decide if you’ll ride it.

The Mahogany Bay chairlift reminds me of a theme park ride, or I should say, more like a ski lift.

Whatever you compare it to, it will take you from the main cruise center to the beach area. This is especially helpful if you have mobility concerns and want to spend some time on the beach without an additional walk across the cruise center and bridge to get to the other side of Mahogany Bay.

If you choose to take the chairlift, you’ll have an aerial scenic view as you ride over the Caribbean waters, and have a great view of your cruise ship and any other ships docked at the pier.

The chairlift is an additional cost. On my last visit, it was $15 for the entire day (price subject to change), and you can ride back and forth between the two sides of Mahogany Bay as often as you’d like.

Remember, I compared it to a ski lift. So, it is a slower-paced transport.

Keep the chairlift pace in mind because it pauses periodically to pick up and drop off passengers. As it pauses, you may be suspended in the air in your chair at any point of the transport, or over the waters, depending on the stops.

Since it is a private cruise port, the chairlift may end operations and have a final pickup and drop-off at a specific time in order to adhere to cruise boarding times. So again, keep the chairlift pace in mind, as well as the time that you want to start walking back or chair-lifting back to the cruise ship.

Mahogany Beach Area

Just a moment ago, I mentioned a cost associated with the chairlift, but there are some inclusive amenities at Mahogany Bay as well. You’ll just need to keep your eyes open for signage and ask just to make sure.

While on the beach, you’ll see:

  • Beach chairs
  • Direct beach access (not Ironshore, which is an iron ladder-only access)
  • Food and beverages
  • Swimming areas
  • Kayak rentals
  • Water activities
  • Hair braiding
  • Massage areas
  • Clam rentals

As you can see from this list on the beach side of Mahogany Bay, the cruise port truly is designed specifically with you, the cruise passenger, in mind. So, there is no need to book an excursion to a private beach!

Again, the beach is direct-access with a shoreline, so it is not an Ironshore, which is common when there are rocky surfaces and not a direct sand-to-ocean shoreline.

Excursion Departure Areas

If you’re considering an excursion just so that you can see more of Roatán beyond the cruise center, you’ll have options, and plenty of them.

After you’ve chosen an excursion either beforehand or at the cruise center, you will likely meet at a designated point close to the welcome area, just after you walk the path after exiting the DuFry, or just outside the port gates.

You’ll know because there will be lots of vendors with signs and vocally calling out excursions, so you won’t miss it!

Keep in mind: Excursions are optional, and some cruisers (like me) spend the day at Mahogany Bay and enjoy the amenities without booking an excursion.

If you do book excursions, be mindful of the cruise embarkation times. This is primarily if you’ve booked with any other vendor besides your cruise ship.

Don’t become a pier runner and risk missing boarding times! Cruise ships have left and will leave passengers who are late.

Can You Walk to the Beach at Mahogany Bay, Roatán?

I’m sure after I mentioned the chairlift earlier, you’re probably wondering if you can walk to the beach at MahoganyBay.

The answer is yes.

A lot of cruise passengers choose to walk instead of taking the chairlift, and some do both just for the scenery and to walk the nature trail.

Walking Distance from the Ship

If you walk instead of taking the chairlift, it will take you about 10-15 minutes.

The path is paved, wide, straight, and easy to follow.

And like at the entrance and walking path when you first exit the DuFry, there are a lot of sitting areas, shaded benches, and along the walking path to the beach, you’ll even find a hammock or two!

Why Comfortable Shoes Matter

One of the biggest recommendations I think I could give when visiting Mahogany Bay, besides taking an umbrella for shade and bottled water to stay hydrated, is to wear comfortable walking shoes.

As I mentioned earlier, the walk isn’t extremely long when compared to other cruise destination spots or excursions, but the Caribbean heat can make it feel as though it is (even in January or February).

While I was there, just after disembarkation, I spent about an hour or so looking around the port area, and then returned to the ship to rest a bit, drink water, and charge my phone and camera. I went back out later that afternoon to walk around the port and to go to the beach.

I think this helped tremendously. Even though it was cooler when I went out earlier, it was also a little more crowded because just about everyone was disembarking. It also helped me to avoid trying to do everything all at once.

I was able to enjoy and see more that afternoon because most cruisers were in for the day or would be heading back out later than me. So, it worked out well.

Mahogany Beach Roatán Beach Guide

Mahogany Bay beach is the ideal place to primarily relax!

The tropical scenery is beautiful enough to simply enjoy the sights and sounds of Roatán.

You have options to swim, ride the chairlift, shop, water activities, and even enjoy a massage, if you’d like.

Mahogany Beach Overview

The Mahogany Bay private beach was created exclusively for cruise visitors.

This is a huge plus because, depending on how many other cruise ships are docked at the same time, you’ll experience a little less of a crowd than in a public venue.

But…there is a chance that if you cruise during a peak season (holidays, summer, etc.), you will have a lot of other cruise passengers from other ships that visit.

And because Mahogany Bay is private, it can appear much smaller than what it actually is when there are more cruisers to share the island with.

The Chairlift Experience

Remember, the Mahogany Bay chairlift is an optional, fun way to have a scenic view of Roatán and to get to the beach without walking the path and bridge.

It is an additional cost, but it may be worth it to save you some steps if you’re planning to spend the day there and you’ll be going back and forth between both sides of the cruise port.

When I’ve gone to Mahogany Bay, there was a line for the chairlift that moved fairly quickly.

So, if you see a line that seems rather long, as chairlift passengers board and the opposite end exits, it keeps the line moving.

It’ll be worth it if you like aerial, scenic, panoramic views of the island along with its beautiful hills.

Free vs Paid Beach Amenities

Again, you do not have to book excursions. You have many beach amenities included when you visit, such as:

  • Beach access
  • Swimming areas
  • Nature trails
  • Restaurants (additional cost, but you can always head back to the ship to eat!)
  • Basic seating areas (clam rentals are for an additional cost)

There are also additional amenities like water activities and cabanas that are available for an extra fee.

Things to Do in Mahogany Bay Roatán Cruise Port

If you decide to stay at the cruise port, you can enjoy Mahogany Bay without excursions. I’ve listed a few things below.

Relax at Mahogany Beach

Once you get to Mahogany Bay and see the Caribbean scenery, you may just want to do nothing but spend the day relaxing on the beach.

If you sunbathe and want to tan, you will have the time and space to do so.

On the beach you can enjoy swimming and other activities.

Shopping for Honduran Souvenirs

There are also plenty of shopping opportunities to purchase souvenirs like:

  • Handcrafted items
  • Local artwork
  • Clothing and handbags (T-shirts, dresses)
  • Caribbean-themed gifts

Water Activities

On the beach, you can also enjoy other activities for an additional cost.

These water activities include:

  • snorkeling
  • paddleboarding
  • kayaking

Travel Tips for Cruise Passengers in Mahogany Bay, Roatán, Honduras

Although you may be extremely excited when you see Roatán from your stateroom balcony or cruise deck, there are some important preparation steps you need to take first before you go ashore to make your cruise stop more enjoyable.

When you arrive, you’ll hear announcements from your cruise captain or cruise director before you go ashore.

These are reminders to bring two forms of ID (most often government ID and cruise card or medallion). They’ll also remind you that you cannot take food from the ship, and to be mindful of boarding times.

Be sure to follow directions because cruise passengers are visitors and must remember to be respectful of maritime laws, customs, etc.

There are also other preparatory things you want to keep in mind, even though you won’t be too far from the ship, and Mahogany Bay is the cruise line’s private island.

Bring Bottled Water

Stay hydrated!

I can’t emphasize this enough!

Heat can lead to dehydration, and yes, even in the Caribbean, dehydration is possible.

If you don’t have bottled water, bring your own refillable water bottle to a water station on the Lido deck and use one of the supplied glasses in the buffet area to fill your water bottle so that you don’t place your water bottle directly under the water dispenser.

You can also purchase water bottles at the ship’s gift shop (they are pricey, but are souvenirs), and the DuFry also has souvenir water bottles (unwashed and sometimes pricier than the cruise ship, but again…a souvenir).

You are able to purchase bottled water at any restaurant in Mahogany Bay as well.

Pro Tip: Do not drink tap water ❤️

Wear Comfortable Shoes

Whatever type of shoes you wear, make sure they are comfortable because you will walk, and walk, and walk some more.

Pro Tip: It may be helpful to carry an extra pair of shoes, in case a part of the shoe has a wardrobe malfunction (straps break, soles unglue, loosen, and detach). I have had this happen on more than one occasion in various settings!

Also, bring your water shoes if you will be going into the water. There are a few rocky spots, and if you choose to go on an excursion or elsewhere, water shoes may be handy as well.

Bring a Towel

If you will be going to the beach, swimming, or enjoying water activities, you’ll need to bring a towel from your stateroom, and also be sure to return it to your stateroom to avoid any potential fees.

Bring an Umbrella or Wear a Sun Hat and Sunglasses

Spurts of rain are common in the Caribbean, and the sun can be intense.

I should know about both because, fortunately, I haven’t been caught in the rain, but I was quickly able to avoid it.

The sun, however, not so much!

In my excitement, I ended up with a suntan, but so gratefully not a sunburn.

So, from first-hand experience, bring an umbrella and/or wear a sun hat (a rim large enough to block the sun or a hat of your preference.

Also, remember to protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses and to avoid squinting all day.

Use Reef-Safe Sunscreen

Besides bottled water, sunglasses, umbrellas, and sunhats, be sure to consider wearing reef-safe sunscreen to protect your skin and the coral reefs around Roatán.

Reef-safe sunscreen will be mineral-free and will help to protect marine life.

Bring Money for Tipping

Some cruisers participate in fee-based activities, like massages, hair braiding, water activities, eating at restaurants, or going on excursions away from the port. Consider bringing small bills or small amounts of cash, like $1 bills, to tip staff if you choose.

Pace Your Visit

Since the cruise port is relatively close to your cruise ship, and you can return to the cruise ship at your leisure, you can pace your visit.

I mentioned this earlier in the post, but I’ll stress this again.

What worked really well for me was splitting my time visiting Mahogany Bay into two parts.

Here’s what I mean.

I disembarked shortly after arriving in Roatán early that morning, explored the port area, and then returned to the ship to rest and drink water.

Later that afternoon, I went back out and walked around again, and went to the beach area before returning to the ship once more to relax a bit before dinner.

Why this worked for me.

This helped me to pace my time at Mahogany Bay so that I wouldn’t feel rushed, tired, or overheated.

When you visit Mahogany Bay, remember, you will have plenty of time at the cruise port.

Don’t pressure yourself into thinking you have to do everything all at once. Pace your visit!

Best Excursions from Mahogany Bay, Roatán, Honduras

If you explored the cruise port and want to see Roatán beyond the cruise port, there are a lot of excursion options available.

Snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef

Snorkeling excursions and diving excursions are extremely popular in Roatán because the Mesoamerican Barrier Reefsits alongside.

You’ll have many tours that will take you to coral reefs so that you can enjoy what we all know to be the colorful side of marine life!

With all this talk about excursions, you are probably wondering, “Can I snorkel at Mahogany Bay in Roatán?”

Yes, you can snorkel at Mahogany Bay without an excursion.

Some cruisers choose a snorkeling excursion if there are other ships docked, and the waters get a little too crowded for their taste.

Others choose an excursion because they’ve already snorkeled at Mahogany Bay.

Whatever your preference or experience, just know that there is more than one snorkeling option (even last-minute decisions) when you dock to visit Mahogany Bay!

Wildlife Encounters

Roatan has many wildlife parks for cruise visitors to interact with sloths, monkeys, and parrots.

This would be a great excursion idea, especially if you’re traveling with family.

If you walk the nature trail at Mahogany Bay, you most likely will encounter a wildlife experience of your own, like I did. I unknowingly walked a path where an iguana was just a few steps in front of me.

Had it not been for the other cruise passengers seeing it and telling me, I might have just casually strolled by or scared both the iguana and me when we saw each other!

Just in case you do decide to book a wildlife excursion, you can visit local sanctuaries for a monkey or sloth experience.

You can book these types of excursions in advance through the cruise line or at the Mahogany Bay cruise center once you arrive.

Early booking is recommended because sometimes it’s more affordable, and then you have the added security of knowing you’ve secured your spot.

Excursion Ticket Delivery

When you board your ship, most often, your excursion tickets are delivered directly to your stateroom sometime between embarkation day, or the day or night before disembarking in Roatán, so you’ll know the meeting area, times, and locations.

Excursion Meeting Location

If you purchased your tickets through the cruise line, sometimes, depending on the cruise line and how many other ships are at port, you may meet in a designated area, like the ship’s theater (if you purchased your excursion separately, you will easily see, hear, and locate excursion vendors and meeting spots in Mahogany Bay).

If you’re organized into groups on the ship, you’ll head to the gangway toward the excursion departure area. At first glance, it can appear intimidating with all of the excursion groups and everyone looking for their tour group, but rest assured, there’s actually organization amongst the appearance of chaos! There are excursion staff who guide everyone.

You’ll then board your transportation to the wildlife excursion. Whichever encounter you choose will be about a 20-minute drive or so, which is great because you’ll also get a scenic tour, and you’ll see the local areas of Roatán beyond the cruise port!

Roatán Sloth Sanctuary and Roatán Monkey Encounters: What to Expect

You can choose from a number of wildlife sanctuaries. In this section, I’ll mention Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hangout.

For the protection of animals and visitors, all sloth and monkey sanctuaries have guides, and when you arrive, there will be instructions on safety before you have any wildlife encounters.

These guides will also introduce you to the animals to make sure you are comfortable, and the animals are as well. And no, the guides will not leave; they will remain with you in the enclosures to assist with animal handling and to make the experience more interactive.

Most of the wildlife encounters last about 50-60 minutes, and there are on-site restrooms, souvenir shops, and snack stands.

Roatán Sloths

No need to hurry up and grab your camera before you miss something!

Sloths will give you plenty of time to grab your camera, set the scene, put your family in place, and whatever else you’d like to do for your photos!

If you don’t know already, Sloths are true to their name because they are nocturnal and move a lot slower than the rest of us during the day. So much so that moss can and does actually have time to grow on their fur!

During your visit, you’ll be able to see the sloths and encounter them in the natural environment, and take close-up pictures, even though you can no longer hold a sloth.

Roatán Monkeys

In Roatán, you can see capuchin, night monkeys, and spider monkeys.

Even though you can’t hold the monkeys, this encounter is a lot more engaging and active than with their counterparts, the sloths.

As you stand in the enclosure, the capuchin monkeys at the sanctuaries will climb on your arms and shoulders, and try to take loose items, which, by the way, the staff asks that you store those items before entering the enclosure (most likely a bag just outside the enclosure so you can easily retrieve it afterward).

Again, as cute as these animals are, pay close attention to what the staff tells you for the best experience.

If you don’t want to necessarily interact with the sloths and/or monkeys, you can easily observe outside the enclosure and take lots of pictures or hold your travel party’s belongings!

Pro Tips: Closed-toe shoes are best for protection, stability, and foot support.

As a reminder, before you enter the enclosure with the monkeys, store all of your loose items (dangling or loop earrings, eyeglasses, necklaces, lanyards, etc.) where the staff suggests, because, again, monkeys are extremely smart, quick, and curious.

They will reach for and take items out of curiosity (don’t let them take your camera or phone), and they will search your pockets in your clothing!

Roatán Iguana Farm

There are many iguana farms in Roatán.

Specifically, if you choose Arch’s Iguana and Marine Park, it is about a 5-minute drive from Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hangout.

There, an on-site guide will explain and show the areas dedicated to the baby green iguanas since their bright, vibrant green color makes them most vulnerable to predators.

You have the opportunity to explore cages where the babies are kept, and you’ll also see larger iguanas of all sizes in a separate area as well. They are more of a brown, copper-orange, and reddish in color, with spiky spines, and are no longer vibrant green, but match and blend into their surroundings.

The guides will also let you feed the iguanas food (follow the guides and iguana’s lead) so you can see how powerful and unique these reptiles are.

Pro Tip: You can pet and take pictures with them, and the handlers explain that iguanas will let you know if they want to be petted by either backing into the palm of your hand or walking away.

Island Tours

Sometimes, as you go on excursions, you inadvertently get an island tour without booking an island tour.

But there are official Roatán island tours that can give you more of a broader look at Roatán versus the cruise port area that was designed with cruise passengers in mind.

If you take an island tour, you can see Roatán’s culture, villages, beaches, local markets, a chocolate factory, and panoramic overlooks for scenic points of view (and of course, the wildlife parks mentioned earlier – iguanas, sloths, and monkeys).

An example of local culture would be Kristi’s Overlook, which is a Roatán restaurant with panoramic scenery that resembles so much of the Amazon and jungle.

You’ll see the ocean as you look over (or “overlook”) the balcony of the restaurant, but you most likely won’t see your cruise ship, though (if you were thinking of taking a selfie with the view and the ship, but you can do that in Mahogany Bay).

Mahogany Bay Roatán vs Coxen Hole Cruise Port

Sometimes people, devices, and online platforms confuse the Mahogany Bay cruise port with the Coxen Hole cruise port, or they think they are the same.

You’ll mostly see or experience this confusion when you have photos or videos, and devices try to label your location.

I experienced this with my Mahogany Bay photos and videos when I left default location settings on some platforms while uploading. Because of this, I removed the location-specific settings because Mahogany Bay was being mislabeled as a Coxen HoleHonduras location.

So…here are a few differences between the two, just in case you’re curious or you may be deciding to cruise with a cruise line that will visit Coxen Hole instead of Mahogany Bay

Mahogany Bay

Mahogany Bay is a private cruise port area that is specifically for cruise passengers and has shopping centers, beach access, paid and inclusive amenities, and a number of restaurants that are designed with cruise visitors in mind.

Coxen Hole

Coxen Hole is also for cruise passengers and is closer to Roatán’s main town.

For this reason, a lot of cruisers who book excursions or who want to see more of Roatán take taxis to see the beaches and local attractions.

Docking at either Mahogany Bay or Coxen Hole will give you beautiful sights and sounds of Roatán and plenty of photo opportunities!

Mahogany Bay Roatán, Honduras Cruise Port FAQ

Even after reading this post, you may have more questions or have missed some things that were already addressed.

If that’s the case, I’ve answered some frequently asked questions about Mahogany Bay.

Can you walk to the beach at Mahogany Bay, Roatán?

Yes, you can walk to the beach within Mahogany Bay because it is easily accessible by taking the chairlift (takes you back and forth) or by walking.

How far is Mahogany Beach from the cruise port?

Because the beach is located inside the Mahogany Bay port, you have about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach after you’ve entered the welcome center and exited the DuFry.

If you or someone you are traveling with has mobility issues or is just a little tired from exploring the main port area, you can easily take the chairlift that is to the left of the walking path to enter the beach (you won’t miss it, just look up and see the direction of the chairlift’s pickup).

Is Mahogany Bay Roatán safe for cruise passengers?

Since Mahogany Bay is a private cruise port, it is designed strictly for cruise passengers. Therefore, it is generally considered safe for cruise passengers.

However, this does not mean to say that minors should visit the cruise port without adults or unsupervised or that items should be left unattended.

Do you need an excursion at Mahogany Bay?

No, not necessarily.

You can walk the cruise port, shop, spend the day at the beach, swim, snorkel, kayak, get a massage, get your hair braided, try Caribbean food, and a few other things I didn’t name, all without booking an excursion!

Is the Mahogany Bay chairlift free?

No, the Mahogany Bay chairlift is not included in the free amenities, but it is available for an additional cost.

Once you pay for the chairlift, you will have unlimited rides back and forth from the main cruise port area to the beach for the entire day until the cruise port closes, or until your cruise ship’s all aboard time.

*Make sure you allow plenty of time to head back on the chairlift before the scheduled boarding time*

Final Thoughts on Visiting Mahogany Bay Roatán in Honduras

There’s so much to say about Mahogany Bay!

As you can see, it is one of the most beautiful, scenic, and convenient cruise ports that you’ll visit in the WesternCaribbean.

I always enjoy Mahogany Bay because of the tropical scenery, sounds, and relaxing atmosphere that’s just a pier-walk away from the cruise ship.

You can literally spend a day there and shop, eat, go to the beach, swim, have spa-time with a massage, or just do nothing and take it all in, with or without an excursion!

I hope your cruise itinerary includes Mahogany Bay in RoatánHonduras, and that you keep going back whenever you can to “sea” how beautiful this island truly is!
