The Port of Galveston, also known as the Galveston Cruise Port, hosts major cruise lines that sail out of Galveston, such as Carnival, Disney, MSC, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Princess, and Royal Caribbean. The Galveston Cruise Port is located along the coast of the Gulf and is ideal for Galveston cruise destinations to the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America. Cruise passengers can park onsite and make advance parking reservations with the cruise port.

Where to Park Your Car in Galveston When Going on a Cruise

Cruises are exciting, but sometimes the details in the preparation can take the fun out of the experience if you’re unfamiliar with the process. Here are a few frequently asked questions about where to park your car in Galveston when going on a cruise, and general cruise parking and cruise shuttle questions.

There are many options for cruise parking. Some cruise passengers reserve parking at the cruise terminal lot, off-site private parking, or use cruise extended stay parking at a hotel.

How much does it cost to park your car in Galveston for a cruise?

If parking at the Galveston cruise port, the Cruise Ship Terminal and Cruise Ship Parking lots offer parking for approximately $25 per day*.

Does the Port of Galveston parking have shuttles?

Yes, when parking at the cruise port, there are complimentary shuttles to and from the cruise terminal to transport cruisers who are not within walking distance of the terminal or on a park-and-walk lot.

The price is relatively more expensive than other cruise parking options, but it factors in the convenience, security, and safety of vehicles being parked closest to the port for timely embarkation. *Rates subject to change. Check directly with the port for the current rate.

Allow for sufficient parking and shuttle departure times for timely cruise embarkation by arriving early at the parking lot to ensure arrival at the Galveston cruise port at least two hours before cruise embarkation.*

Is there a shuttle from Houston airports to the Galveston cruise port?

Cruise lines offer airport cruise shuttles known as airport cruise transfers. Cruise passenger can make advance purchases for one-way and round-trip rides to and from the Hobby Airport (HOU) and the Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for a per-person fee at designated times on embarkation and disembarkation day. If you are traveling alone or have an additional traveler, the expenses for an airport transfer would be far less than traveling per person with a large family.

Also, passengers are guaranteed by the cruise line that they will not miss the cruise embarkation. While at the airport, cruise line representatives generally meet passengers in the Baggage Claim area. Just follow the signs to Baggage Claim, retrieve your luggage, and then look for the cruise line representative with signage!
